Sping Arts Festival

The image above is of two Kokeshi Dolls

The image above is called Animal Heaven.
The photo above is of a pine cone

For the spring arts festival we had to finish or create
images to put on display. This was fun to have our

designs professionally printed as they looked really good on the proper paper. I thought that the proccess of creating these images in the right format and finishing 11 images in 2 lessons quit easy but that was because i had finished most of them anyway.
The images shown are just some of the images that were mine in the Spring Arts Festival.

The image to your right is called Mimi. this name is my nickname that some of my friends call me.

Kokeshi Doll

In this class I created a Kokeshi Doll on Inkscape.
This is probably the best image that I have created on Inkscape and I found it quite easy when using the tutorial on my computer. By creating this image I feel more comfortable doing more intermediate images on inkscape.

Photoshop Footballer

For this essigment we had to take an image out and put another in instead of it. I chose the popcorn bowl off the internet and then copyed it on to the picture using theclone stamp tool. This was quite funny doing this and was really easy to do. I thought that by using a footballer it would look the most funny seeing as the always have a concentratrated look on there face.

Photoshop

In this class we chose a photo off the internet and put it on photoshop and had to take something out of the picture. This tennis player was holding a racket but I was able to take it out using the clone stamp tool. Doing this essigment was not that hard but was tricky in some areas.

Clone Stamp Tool Photo Shop

After
Before

This class was all about editing photos using the clone stamp tool in photoshop. We were magazine cover artists and had to ajust photos like they do for magazines. By doing this the woman shown looks more younger as they want to look like. When doing this we had to be careful that we did not get a flat colour on the face because then it would look really un realistic. I never knew how the magazine people make people look better but now i do.

Sports Lockers and Classroom Sign

This part of the lesson was used to go around and take pictures of the school. This is of the sports lockers at an angle, I thought that this represented a photo of pattern because the squares on the side of the locker goes on and on up the wall. The other photo on the left is a sign that was given to us by the ETH the university of Zurich when our school visited. I think this is uniqe about our school because I have never seen a sign like that in another school before.

Photography using the Macro setting

Continuing the Lesson on Photography, we had to take more pictures using the macro setting. The macro setting is a setting on the camara so that when set and you take a picture of an object that is about 2cm from the camara then it will stay in focus. It was more easy to do than normal photography but was harder to always get it in focus. In this picture you can see that I focused on the pine cone and the backround is blurred, when taking this image I was about one and a half cm away from the object so that shows how close you can get.

Pattern image

This photo show a great pattern of pieces of fabric. The image shows a coloured rectangle and then a blank square which goes on forever. Th artist must have turned his camara up because the pattern goes up and up.

Texture photo

2march2010, originally uploaded by Rowdy Rebel1.

In this photo you can see and almost feel how the sheeps fur feels like. Or its horns which have bumps on them. The artist must have gotten down lower to capture this image.

Lines photo

Staring at Lines, originally uploaded by Karon.

This image is a great example of lines. The photo is really just a bunch of lines but when looked at first it looks 3D and like a box. this can be confusing. The artist must have wanted that man in the picture aswell.

Depth of field photo

, originally uploaded by iignee.

This photo shows depth of field well. the main image, the man, is staring into the distance and as he does so the backround goes smaller and smaller. The artist must have only focused on the man seeing as thebackround is blurred.

Rule of thirds photo

60.365, originally uploaded by simplypluvia.

This image is an example of the rule of thirds. As you can see the main object, the shoe, has been captured to the side instede of right in the middle. The photographer must have been in a special angle from his/her camara to capture this image.

Symetrical Photo

The Flaming Martini, originally uploaded by andrew_v.

This photo is a good example of symetry, because the flaming martini is exactly the same upside down as it is standing up. The artist must have used a bit of photo shop to do this seeing as to get that image is quite impossible.

Getting Started With Photography At The Middle School

This task was to go around the outside of the school taking a ton of photos. When I found my subject, for example the picture of the red stalks I had to push the shooting button half way down so it would be in focus for this image. I found this sometimes dificult because I forgot to push it halfway. I am going to try and get better at focusing on the image, but I think I did well at finding good subjects to take the photo of. I think I was able to get close to my subject and finding subject easy but in some places it was not.

Path Operation Shapes

These are the path operations that we had to learn beefore we went on to creating the animal heads. Doing this was easy seeing as we had instructions to read. i hope that by doing these itwill be easier to make more objects in the future.

Friday 5 February 2010

Panda Head

This animal head looks a lot more cartoonish especially like Kung Fu panda from the movie. This activity was making a head but in really basic shapes. Really all I used was 10 circles and 2 lines. This head is very basic and is not very realistic but you can see that it is a Panda. Doing this activity was fun and made me see how you can use basic shapes in a creation.

Zebra Head

In this lesson I did a Zebra head and we had to use path operations and no instructions whatsoever. I found that by doing this I am able to use the path operations and that I can create an animal face. I found doing this quite fun and in some ways harder than others.

Lion Head

In our latest activity we focused on path operations and I used them to create a Lion which was easier than the Zebra because there was not so many hard parts. I enjoyed doing this and found it quite easy and fun to create. By making this animal I think that I can understand path operations more so I will be able to use them in other things.

My New Face

In this lesson we learnt how to create a basic face. we found out how to use the drawing tool and a tool that creates hair. I really liked doing this as it was my first time making a person. I am happy as this turned out. But i think that the ears could have been a little smaller.

My Second Heart

In this class I learnt how to make a heart and use a gradient that makes it look glossy or shiny. we also learnt how to make an additional shine to it. After making the heart I duplicated it and made it white and added a stop that made it go from white to nothing, I did this twice. Foor the shine i used two stars. By making this i will now find it easier to create advanced images using this. I really like this heart and am pleased how it came out.

Basic Shapes

In this Digital Art class, the goal was to get familiar with the tools on inkscape and learning how to make basic shapes. At first I thought that it was just some easy shapes, but then i learned how you have to use the nodes to shape it in a specific way and i used circles and rectangles to make these shapes.
By making these shapes i now know that every picture in inkscape i made with basic shapes, so it will now be easier to understand how to create it.
For the clover i used a circle and added nodes to shape it, the same with the speech bubble. But for the dog bone i used a rectangle and as before added nodes to shape it.
